About Ashleigh
Ashleigh Temple-Camp is passionate about creativity & artmaking. She believes … it is a way of life.
Ashleigh trained as an Astar facilitator under Lindy Solomon, founder of ASTAR and TAP. She completed the Art & Trauma course through Lafika, the Lalela Heart Map training, and the foundation year at the Centre for Creative Education. Over 16 years, Ashleigh has facilitated a multitude of workshops, courses & getaways in the Western Cape.
She has 6 years experience as a senior phase Visual Arts Trainer, training teachers from the Overberg in partnership with the Western Cape Education Department. Over this time she also held workshops for at-risk teenagers at the NGO Enlighten Education Trust where her learners won 6 gold medals in the yearly Overberg competitions! She has several years experience offering therapeutic art to special needs children & adults at Camphill School, and Farm in Hermanus. She taught art to at-risk youths from the Kusasa Project in Franschhoek, and worked for the former NGO, Africa Trading, assisting adults from the townships to market their crafts.
Ashleigh is a practicing Artist, Life Coach and a qualified Body Stress Release Practitioner. She has 3 years experience working as a free-lance illustrator for a variety of publishing houses and has published her own South African Mandala adult colouring range.
About The Heart Studio
The Heart Studio was founded by Ashleigh Temple-Camp in 2009.
Workshops, courses and retreats take place in Hermanus, or on-site anywhere within the Western Cape.

Each process has a 3-fold format.
The Inspiration
A specific inspirational exercise is encourages participants to bypass the critical analytical mind, and lose the fear of art-making.
The Main Process
The theme of the workshop is further explored in the main process. Art materials & inspiring techniques are pre-demonstrated, and vary to suit each theme.
The Reflection
A relevant reflection process and optional sharing complete the experience. Connections are made between the art process and everyday life.
